Bangkok, Thailand also called the 'other' City of Angels. People have a different notion of Thailand I've realized, but until you visit it for yourself I found you won't be able to truly understand what this vibrant country actually is about! I admit I wanted to go all over Thailand but with the little time I had I was advised by everyone who had visited to break the journey and save it for the next trip, as all those who have gone to Thailand know you can't just visit it once as there is so much you want to explore each time! Thus I started with the city that I had dreamt about, like literally dreamt about in the past 2 years since I was there in transit a long time ago.

What drew me particularly to Bangkok? The short flight, the affordability, the beaches, the sunny weather? These reasons played a certain role in my decision but the ultimate reasons had to be for the THAI CUISINE and SPIRITUALITY which I find spoke to me in my dreams and called me to the city. I soon learnt that I was humbled by the positive, funny, hardworking and oh so courteous as well as helpful citizens of this blessed city! It was my first solo trip but it hardly felt like I was alone, rather I was coming to meet long lost friends and family. From my arrival at Suvarnabhumi Airport, every person aided me and many were fellow Indian travelers as well, to my lovely taxi driver who was technically the first person who greeted me in Bangkok and what a sweetheart he was, he talked to me but was very respectful knowing I had come from a long flight and did not pester me. Day 1 was all about my Wat tour to Wat Po and Wat Arun as well as a light evening meet-shopping with my Dear Aunty friend Patana. Oh yes and boy was it a super humid first day, thank goodness for chilled Strawberry Fanta, the AC BTS Sky rail and Bangkok Boat taxi!

I recommend all tourists and visitors to make sure to always hydrate themselves while in the city as during the day it can get very scorching hot- you can always pop into a 7 Eleven and buy chilled drinks like I did, personally I prefer the sugar drinks or coconut water as it helps you not only stay cool but also gives you that sugar boost which you need while touring the city. As for my favorite topic: Thai food, choose any they are all delicious, I decided to go for some Thai street noodles at the restaurant by the Chao Phraya river- so lunch and an exquisite view! Evening time the weather gets lovely and cool, spending it at the MBK Mall and surrounding Siam Malls with aunty was the best way to end the day.
